Which Home Remedies to Cure Body Acne Work Best?

By Amanda Martinez

What is body acne

The easiest explanation is the most obvious. Body acne is acne that forms on your body. I personally have dealt with body acne, and I have to tell you I don't enjoy it at all.

Body acne is often worse than face acne, because the acne nodes are usually bigger, deeper, and more painful. Body acne also usually takes longer to go away.

In this article I will show you 3 home remedies for acne and tell you if they work.

Home remedy #1

I heard of this one a while back, but it still seems to be popular. Toothpaste is the first home remedy. I personally have never found any evidence that this works, but I know that some people swear by it.

To use toothpaste to combat body acne, all you need to do is apply the white paste kind directly to the zit. It won't hurt you, and it may make your skin smell minty, but in my experience it won't help heal the acne either. I'd personally just pass on this one.

Home remedy #2

The second home remedy is Witch Hazel. Now Witch Hazel is a funny name, but it is also a natural astringent. You can find witch hazel in a bottle at drug stores for less than a latte.

To apply witch hazel, just use a cotton ball and apply it directly to the pimple. Witch hazel is very soothing, and will reduce the redness of the acne. I recommend this home remedy for mild acne.

Home remedy #3

A body wash that contains Salicylic Acid can work wonders to cure body acne. In fact using a product that contains Salicylic Acid is one of the best things you can do to at home to treat body acne.

It's even better if you have a body wash that contains both Salicylic Acid and Citric Acid, as these two ingredients work together to clear acne fast.

This body acne home remedy is a little pricier than others at about $20 a month, but it gives you some of the best weapons to get rid of body acne and keep it from coming back.

Acne Scar Cream - How It Can Help You

By Jayne Nightingale

All of us have suffered from Acne at one stage in our life, especially during our pubescent years. If you're lucky, your acne will disappear as you get older, however, for some, acne is so severe it leaves permanent scars and can leave you feeling very self conscious about your appearance. This is a reason why people search for an acne scar cream solution to help reduce the appearance of scarring.

This article will provide information about the different types of acne and scars and how you can combat them with an acne scars cream. The most popular types of acne are blackheads, whiteheads, cysts and papules.

The shape and appearance of the subsequent scars determine their name. The main scar is the ice pick scar which is a deep, pointed scar similar to the marks left in ice after using an ice pick.

Whichever type of scar you are dealing with, it will be the size, depth and location that determines how visible it is.There are numerous varieties of acne scar cream with a range of ingredients that claim to heal acne scars.

There are over the counter creams that can be found at the local drugstore or chemist. There are also prescription lotions that can be prescribed by your doctor.

Specialist natural acne scar cream is also an option that many people are now choosing. These creams work in harmony with your body to repair your skin and promote new skin cell growth. Many people have tightened and smoothed their skin as a result of using this particular type of treatment.

Please be aware that not all creams are the same with some being nothing more than a costly moisturiser. Therefore, look for an acne scar cream with testimonials from sufferers who have removed and reduced their acne scars.

How to Get Rid of Acne Scars - Without Surgery

By Martin Hancock

Acne can leave behind permanent scarring that can take on a variety of forms including ice pick scar. They can alsolast a lifetime if left untreated. Acne scars can be unsightly, appear anywhere on the body and can be a cause of stress and anxiety for sufferers and this is why there are a number of specialist products and treatments to remove acne scars.

Laser treatments are one such method, but these are invasive and can be very expensive. To bridge the cost gap, specialist creams and lotions have been created to that are less costly and because of the new found success rates people are achieving at reducing the appearance of scarring, they are being used more and more by acne scarring sufferers to remove acne scars.

Acne scars come in four general shapes. Ice pick scars are probably one of the most common but they also come in shapes that have descriptive names such as boxed scars, rolling scars and hypertrophic scars. For many treatments, you will have to pick and choose the method depending on the size and shape of the scars that you have.

For a specialist acne scar removal kit, the methods will work on any type of scarring that you have. There is a specific reason for this. Specialist acne scar creams tend to go after the cause of the problem rather than just trying to treat the visible effects of the scarring.

Cream and lotion application kits can use a mixture of natural and medicated ingredients that work in harmony at dealing with acne scarring and are far more affordable than laser acne scar treatments.

Before testing the laser removal option to get rid of acne scars, why not try a specialist acne scar cream kit that has been formulated to quickly and painlessly repair and remove acne scars.

Here's How To Get Rid Of Acne Permanently - It's Not Hard!

By Grant Dougan

Lots of people have used several different acne products without actually having any luck in clearing their skin. It's unfortunate as dealing with acne is a great nuisance! It's ok though - getting rid of acne is completely possible.

Right off the bat, let's have a look at why the acne treatment products you buy in the drugstores almost never produce results. It's critical to understand this if getting rid of acne is a mission of yours.

Most products are formulated to just attack existing zits rather than preventing and really treating the causes of pimples - this is a huge issue!. They merely act to "zap" zits one at a time instead of handling acne at the root of the problem.

This is a huge problem! There isn't a point in treating one zit if you aren't doing a thing to stop new outbreaks! This is a big annoyance of mine and I see many people wasting their money for this reason.

In order to eliminate your acne, you must use a product that targets all of the things that cause acne. To eliminate your pimples, you must treat the following - specific acne causing bacteria, irritation of the skin, plugged skin pores and overactive skin glands.

And it's completely doable. Although there isn't many useful selections in the stores, you can find acne treatment solutions that are designed to touch on all of the factors that cause acne. The most effective acne solutions will target all of the factors that cause acne and function like a system to clear your acne.

If you use a product that truly treats the causes of zits, you will see results within a weeks time. It's a great feeling looking at yourself in the mirror and notice the improvements.

Getting rid of zits is not only achievable, but it's really easy when you use the right treatment system.

Your Acne Doubts Cleared!

By SkinCareGenius

There are many misconceptions about acne despite being one of the most common skin conditions around the world; the main belief being that it only affects young people. While it is true that acne will often become apparent during the formative years, many people do in fact find it a temporary condition although as many as nine in every ten people will suffer with at some point in their lives.

Our sebaceous glands produce oil called sebum which fouls up the hair follicles and contributes to acne but this is not the only substance responsible. Acne is the result of the sebum in the pores and not the skin itself although the condition does seem to be a modern problem and not something we have always had to live with.

Clogged pores can also be caused by things like makeup, atmospheric pollution and the reason more young people seem to suffer with it, hormone adjustments but at least it is a treatable condition. Other causes that have been discovered are the reprocessed foods we eat and the high level of sugars that re contained in almost everything we consume.

Sometimes when acne is difficult to cure, a dermatologist will suggest a different type of medication which is more effective but may require more time to work. Once a dermatologist has been consulted then he will check on the effectiveness of the medication on a regular basis and monitor to see whether other treatment is necessary.

During this time in particular it is important to ensure that fingernails are cleaned thoroughly and regularly as they harbor dirt, germs and bacteria that can aggravate the condition.

Germs and bacteria are not normally seen by the naked eye so just because the fingernails look clean does not actually mean they are. So wherever possible, it is advisable to keep the hands, especially fingernails away from any acne spots.

The chances of perfect skin are virtually zero and you are more likely to suffer with acne if your parents also had the condition. The most likely scenario is that you will contact acne while you are young probably around puberty.

If necessary, acne sufferers should consult a dermatologist or qualified physician for acne treatment. The information here is not designed to replace the advice given by a doctor, dermatologist or other medical professional.

Acne Scars Treatment

By Jayne Nightingales

For many, acne scars are little more than an irritation. For others, they may have a scar or two in a visible location but they are easily covered. However there are many acne scar sufferers where the scarring is so severe that no amount of make up will hide or cover them up.

If you are troubled by these problems then you will be pleased to learn that there are solutions in the form of an acne scars treatment that can remove acne scars permanently. These treatments range from the extreme, such as chemical peels to the fairly simple such as natural scar cream. Many individuals do not realize that a pimple can leave a scar, even if they do not have a bad case of acne.

Dont pick, touch or pop your pimples! What happening is that your white blood cells are coming to the surface to battle the infection in your pores, by picking at your pimple you are sending the bacteria further down youre your skin, thus leaving a scar when the infection is cleared. What this actually does is to drive the bacteria further down into the skin and promote the scarring that ends up showing up at a later date. It also may cause the infection and visible acne to spread to other areas of the face.

A clear message to keep clear of your pimples. If you already suffer from acne scarring you need to be aware of the acne scar treatment options available to you. The expensive laser treatment options are a big step, costly and time consuming.

It is doubtful your insurance covers anything cosmetic. Chemical peels are also on the market, and again are expensive and you will probably need more than one treatment. On top of that, your insurance will, more than likely, not cover this particular treatment either.

The best option for nearly all acne scar sufferers is a natural acne scar cream. These creams have developed and will tackle many issues at the same time. The most important is to hydrate your skin and promote the production of collagen which will smoothen out your skin.

Treating Acne with Accutane - What You Need to Know

By D.L. Casey

Since 1983 people have been taking Isotretinoin or it's brand name Accutane as a way of treating severe types of acne known as nodular cystic acne. Isotretinoin is typically given as an oral medication prescribed by a dermatologist. This type of medication is derived from vitamin A and will cause excess sebum or oil to decrease from the oil glands and stop comodomes from forming.

Accutane isn't cheap. The medication costs anywhere from $500 to $600 for a standard course of treatment which is about 16 weeks. Most drug plans cover the costs - though they will usually place some limits on coverage.

Taking this medication is generally safe under strict doctors care, however, there are many risks to consider prior to taking Accutane that one needs to be aware of. Cost not withstanding, the potential harmful side effects can be devastating.

Some side effects include but are not limited to the following:

* Bleeding and inflammed gums, nose and lips

* Birth defects

* Depressed behavior and suicidal thoughts

* Joint pain

* Possible damage to the organs such as the kidneys and liver

* More fatigue and sun sensitivity

It is recommended that not everyone should be treated using Accutane since it's such a strong medication with some serious side effects. While those with severe nodular acne have been helped by this drug not everyone should be on this type of treatment. You should speak with a Dermatologist if you have any confusion over the severity of your acne and if you have been unsuccessful treating your acne using other treatment methods.

Even serious side effects do not stop most people from trying Accutane as they feel the benefits of acne-free skin are worth the potential risks. Other acne patients might start looking for alternative treatments because the treatment has been ineffective or they have had too many adverse side effects.

Many people have got their acne under control using alternative treatments to traditional medications. Those treatments include taking vitamins, changing the diet and using herbal and ayurvedic remedies to treat acne. Products such as Vilantae also claim to be a natural alternative to Isotretinoin because of the way it stops oil production in the skin. However, even products that have herbal components are not always safe and can have potential side-effects. Make sure you research any other acne treatment before you jump in.

Finding an acne treatment that works on your type of skin condition can be extremely difficult. Acne medications are not right for everyone. There can be side effects and adverse reactions and some medications can make your acne worse. There are natural and alternative options available to treat acne if you are worried about using strong medications. Educating yourself and finding out what causes your acne will help you develop the right treatment plan for you.

Tips to care for your skin and prevent acne

By Ema

When we talk about acne problems, it was often thought that acne is due to poor hygiene. But that is far from the truth. You can be the cleanest person on earth and you can still have acne problems. That's because acne is a very complex condition that involved all sorts of factors from your hormones to your skin condition to sebum production.

So, all you really need to do to prevent acne is to have a set of simple and effective skin care steps that you follow every day for the rest of your life. It is not about washing your face with soap and then that's it. We are talking about your face here, where the skin is sensitive. So, you really need to do more than just use soap! In fact, you should stop using soap. It is the harshest thing you could ever do to your skin.

The first thing you need to do is to get a set of skin care products. If you have acne problems, then get a set that is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic products, generally, they are known as acne skin care products. These skin care products works to clean your skin, protect your skin, care for your skin and work to rid your skin of acne and prevent it too! What's not to like about these products?

A complete set makes up a cleanser, a toner, a moisturizer and an acne treatment cream. First is the cleanser that is responsible for clearing off the dirt from your face. You will need to identify your skin type, whether it is oily or dry, before getting the suitable cleanser so that it won't cause your skin to be too oily or too dry after use.

After cleansing, you will need to apply toner which will act to tighten your pores. It is especially useful to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and it also prepare your skin for the moisturizer. After the toner, you apply a suitable moisturizer to return the moisture to your skin so that it won't go into an overdrive trying to produce moisture which could result in oily skin. As with the cleanser, you will need to choose a toner and moisturizer that suits your skin type to avoid sensitizing your skin.

The moisturizer is good to replenish moisture to your skin so that your skin will not produce excessive sebum which could result in clogged pores and then acne. Some of the moisturizer available also contain anti-acne agents so you could use these to your benefit in getting rid of your acne. Finally, don't forget to apply the acne treatment cream liberally on your blemishes. Get those that contain benzoyl peroxide as this agent is particularly affective against zapping and preventing acne. Once you complete these skin care steps twice a day, morning and night, I am certain, you will soon have smooth and blemish-free skin.

What You Should Know About Acne

By Lucille Green

There are many misconceptions about acne despite being one of the most common skin conditions around the world; the main belief being that it only affects young people. Although not confined to teenagers, it is usually at this point in their lives when it is more likely to show and the figures indicate that as many as 9 out of 10 people will have acne at some time during their life.

Generally, acne is the result of excess oil or sebum in the hair follicles but this is not the only cause nor does it mean that over production of oil equals acne either.

Even out diet can play a part in the cause of acne as much of our diet today is made up of unhealthy processed foods.

Sometimes when acne is difficult to cure, a dermatologist will suggest a different type of medication which is more effective but may require more time to work. Having a dermatologist treat the condition is not such a bad idea as he or she will be able to better check on how well the treatment is he prescribed. The person suffering with acne must remember not to scratch at or attempt to remove and pimples as any bacteria carried beneath the nails could cause further infection.

Germs and bacteria are not normally seen by the naked eye so just because the fingernails look clean does not actually mean they are. Therefore any contact between an acne sufferer's hands and affected areas should be avoided if possible.

As very few people have completely blemish free skin, there is a good chance that if you haven't had acne that you may well experience it at some stage especially if your parents suffered with it as well. However, in the majority of cases the hormones resulting in acne usually take place during teenage years.

When the condition is affecting the individual both physically and emotionally then this is a good time to take advice from a dermatologist. Please be aware that the information here is provides as a guide only and does not try to replace the professional guidance supplied by a professional about the condition and treatment of acne.

Review - Compare Exposed Acne Treatment and Proactiv

By D.L. Casey

Good acne products are hard to come by, especially ones that actually do what they say they will do. In this review we will focus on two popular acne treatment systems - Exposed acne treatment and Proactiv Solution. Both of these products claim to get rid of acne and leave your skin beautiful, are there any differences between them?

The first thing we look at when evaluating a product is it's value. Does it make sense to pay more for a product based on perceived value? Proactiv is endorsed by celebrities and has high production value, but does it mean it's better? Proactiv and Exposed both offer starter kits around the same price, however, Exposed's starter treatment kit contains a little bit more product in their kit than Proactive.

Do Proactiv and Exposed treat acne the same way? They both use their own unique formulation for treating acne and preventing new acne, but can you find the same thing much less expensive in the drug store? Well, both offer a cleanser, toner and oil free moisturizer in addition to a few other products that get thrown in to help keep acne under control. So, ultimately the routine for treating your skin is the same.

Next we look at the type of ingredients to really see if there is a difference between the two products. This is where Proactiv and Exposed Acne start to part ways. Proactiv contains typical ingredients that could be found in common over the counter products. Benzoyl peroxide is the main active ingredient in Proactiv solution. Is is commonly used in acne products for it's ability to kill bacteria and effectively treat acne.

Exposed acne skin care products contains a special type of benzoyl peroxide in their daytime serum. It is formulated to penetrate deep into the pores without leaving your skin dry. All their other products contain salicylic acid and natural acne fighting ingredients. If your skin was sensitive to benzoyl peroxide you could always choose not to apply the daytime serum and still see results with the rest of the system. For some people with sensitive skin, benzoyl peroxide could potentially make acne worse by irritating the skin.

Proactiv, on the other hand, uses a lot more benzoyl peroxide in order to control oil and bacteria build up. It also must be noted that Proactiv Solution contains no other product in their line that helps you attack acne from the inside out. Many people understand that acne is not only a result of what's on the surface of your skin, but diet and the internal hormonal balance plays a huge role. This is something that both Proactiv and Exposed fail to include in their treatment kit. Exposed, however, does offer a supplement in their product line that you can order separately if you would like to have a more comprehensive approach to treating acne.

Lastly, when you want to make sure that a product is guaranteed to work and if it doesn't work on your skin type you can get your money back. Proactive offers a 60 day guarantee. This is good, but a lot of time it takes about that long to see results. Exposed acne care offers a one year guarantee. That is plenty of time to see if the product is working for you. Not only that, Exposed also offers a $25.00 credit on future purchases of their product if you have tried other products that have failed. You just need to send them the empty bottle of competitors brands and they will credit your next purchase with them.

These are just a few comparisons between Exposed acne treatment and Proactiv Solution. Both of them are equally popular, but in the end both are not the same. Exposed contains a stronger guarantee, better quality of ingredients for the same price as Proactiv and can be used by most skin types. It is always your choice in the end when choosing which product is best for your type of skin and your specific form of acne.

How to Choose the Right Facial Skin Care Product?

By SkinCareGenius

You can pretty much guarantee that there is a facial skin care product to suit every type of complexion for any complaint or condition you care to mention. It is in the area of daily facial care that has seen the biggest growth in recent years. A few examples would be products like moisturizing creams, skin toners and makeup removers.

The general classification of facial skin care products is based on the following: As a man's face is somewhat more rugged than a woman's, it necessary to make the initial category one that is based on the sex of the user.

The next category is the type of skin you have because each type of skin will require a different formulation so there are facial skin care products for oily, dry, sensitive and normal. Your age is also important and facial skin care products are available for older and facial skin and for the young.

There are also special skin care ranges for people with skin complaints and conditions like psoriasis, eczema and acne for example. This category list is by no means complete but does give a good idea of the types of products available and it may help you decide on exactly what type of skin you have.

Remember that as your skin ages it will require a different type of preparation so a product you get on well with today at the age of twenty, probably won't twenty years from now. As each different product is manufactured in more than one type of formulation, it may take some time for you to decide which type is the best to use; creams, lotions or gels for example.

Which type you prefer will just come down to trial and error because everyone has their own particular favorite. It is always best to try any new product out on a piece of skin first to see if there is any reaction before you decide to use it all over your face; the earlobes are often suggested as trial areas.

Another important consideration is the state of your skin. Always remember to read the instructions before use, even if it is boring as to get the greatest benefits from the facial skin care products you have chosen it is something you need to do; they are there for a purpose.

Our skin, especially that on our faces have to put up with a great deal of punishment and there is nothing wrong with trying to protect and look after your complexion, no matter what sex you are.

The Best Kitchen Acne Home Remedies

By John Denver

Acne is one of those skin problems that afflict both emotional and physical well-being. Over 40 million North Americans suffer from acne. Acne is not just limited to teenagers either; millions of adults also suffer from acne. There are various treatments you can find in the drugstore. But there are some problems with these:

1. They often are ineffective

2. If you stop using, acne will return

3. They irritate your skin.

Not to worry though, there are some better alternatives found in your kitchen. Called "acne home remedies", these are created using natural products such as herbs, fruits, and other organic items. Here are some of the more popular acne home remedies you may want to try:

Garlic Acne Home Remedy: Cut up garlic clove and rub the raw end against any pimples you may have, twice a day. Garlic has some very powerful antimicrobial properties and by touching your pimples with garlic, you help to kill them.

Cucumber Acne Home Remedy: Cucumbers have powerful anti-aging properties and are a common home remedy for skin treatments. But did you know that you can treat your acne too? Blend a cucumber and mix in half a cup of milk. Use this as a face wash (you can refrigerate any of the excess for later use) twice a day.

Lemon juice is also another effective home remedy for acne. Cut a lemon in half and rub the cut-side against your face. Don't wash the juice off for at least 6 hours; for best results apply before going to bed, wash off with lukewarm water after waking up, then re-apply again. Repeat for a month and your acne with disappear.

Honey is another very popular acne home remedy is honey. Honey, like garlic and lemon, can kill acne-causing bacteria. Take a tablespoon of honey (organic, if possible) and smear over your face before going to bed. Yes, it can be sticky, but if you let it dry out a bit, some of the stickiness will vanish. Rinse off in the morn with lukewarm water.

There you have it, quick, cheap-to-make, and effective acne home remedies. When starting an acne home remedy treatment, you should stick to the treatment for at least a month -- as it sometimes takes that long to see any results. However, stick with it and your acne home remedy make clear up that acne for good.

A Cure For Clogged Pores

By Just Ask Fred

Healthy Pores, a skin care product and system will have you looking great. You rejuvenate your skin and cleanse it at the same time and look you best. Better than you ever have before using Healthy Pores. Some people are more prone to acne breakouts than others due to overactive hormones. This product is for every type of skin, young, older individuals and, of course, teens. About seventy five percent of teens have breakouts from acne and females over the age of forty, the percentage is about fifty four. This product is made for all skin types and can be used by both males and females. There are three parts to this system and all three parts help fight acne breakouts.

The skin has basically 2 layers, the dermis is the living layer, and the epidermis is a layer that is thin, and contains the dead skin cells right at the surface of it. Oil getting in the middle of the two layers is what leads to blemishes. People with acne find that a regular exfoliant doesn't work to eliminate the skin cells that are dead as good as they need it done, and the answer isn't hard scrubbing either because that just spreads the bacteria and can cause scarring. Healthy Pores has a cleanser that has 2% salycilic acid, this helps exfoliate the dead skin cells very gently with modest pressure. For many years this acid has been utilized to cleanse the skin, and skin care experts haven't found anything better in all the years. It can be applied with water and soap when desired to give you a nice, clean tingling feeling.

Using Healthy Pores products will help destroy the bacteria causing your acne outbreak. A natural oil in your skin called sebum is a necessity for the health of your skin but, unfortunately, those with recurring acne have this sebum building between the epidermis and dermis and causing the pores to clog. The bacteria can be destroyed by using Healthy Pores cream preventing any further breakout. It is a natural ingredient based product and has been used for numerous years in the field of skin care. Much the same way as salicylic aced is used in the cleanser, a natural ingredient, tea oil, is used in the cream, killing bacteria and keeping the skin moist at the same time. The anti-inflammatory ingredients do not cause redness and contains other natural ingredients that nourish your skin.

The nutritional supplements of Healthy Pores is what really stands out in these products. Overactive hormones are the cause of acne and these hormones, during puberty, are known to be in overdrive during puberty, fertility cycles or changes in the weather or exposure to toxins. Its at this time that an abundance of sebum is produced and lodges between the layers of skin and causes the pores to clog. A nutritional supplement offered by Healthy Pores, all natural ingredient, help to balance the hormones, the body to detoxify and to clear the skin. And this is just one of the benefits of using Healthy Pores supplemental products. When you feel good you look good and visa versa.

When you use all these product together they help your skin clear quickly. Sometimes people see a noticeable difference in a short time as in a week, but usually it takes 3 weeks to see the most change, from blemished to totally clear skin. You get a money back guarantee so if you do not get your desired results, just return it and we will refund your money. We're that sure of our product! And acne is the only thing you have to lose.

How Teenagers Are Able To Clear Up Acne

By Chris Channing

You will quickly find that many of the facts you find out on acne prevention and control are rather unreliable. Myths are floating around as to how to finally get rid of the affliction, with unknowing readers believing every bit of it. Some of the best advice may come from you yourself, as a result from your own testing.

Sweating is necessary for cooling the body in warm temperatures or when enduring strenuous activity. It also helps clog pores, which leads to problems in acne. Although some may say this is untrue, we can help prove it by showing statistics of climate and acne problems. In warmer climates, we see that there will be more cases of acne, or more severe cases of acne reported.

Even some doctors will say that nutrition isn't likely the culprit for acne. This is untrue, as we can look at things such as milk or multi-vitamins. Milk has been shown to increase acne in some cases, and multi-vitamins that include certain vitamins prove to help acne. Different types of fats and minerals will also help the body to fight the problem of acne if taken in the right amounts.

Allergies can also contribute to acne. This is actually more common than what most would think, as we can see from those who tend to develop acne based on what side of their face they sleep on at night. Buying allergen-free pillowcases and washing them regularly with the right detergent is highly recommended in such a case.

Water is important to consume when fighting a case of acne. Water helps the skin to become more elastic and healthy. This may not have immediate effects, but getting the right dosage of water each day over a long period of time will indeed show large improvements in skin health. You may help the water go down by using lemon or lime juice, which can give water a slight flavor that makes the process much more enjoyable.

Taking a multivitamin will also help against acne. If you are suffering from any sort of nutrient or mineral deficiency, this will very often contribute to acne problems. Most importantly is the essential fatty acids, which have been shown to improve a case of acne if they were previously not being consumed. Fish oil is another good supplement to take, which is easy to obtain in pill form.

Final Thoughts

Treating acne is a tough situation. It can sometimes take a month or more to see if a treatment is working, and by that time you may have already moved onto another treatment. If you are constantly trying to find a solution to no avail, consult a physician for other treatment options.

Effectively Treat Body Acne

By Dan da Silva

Acne in general is the most prevalent skin problem in our country. Though acne is usually associated to the face, the seriousness of body acne as a problem is also on the rise. Acne attacks not only the face but on the body as well.

Treating acne is not a big deal. However, the umpteen number of body acne remedies that are in the offing, make selecting the right and the most effective acne medicine difficult to identify and a very time consuming process.

When you start to surf the market for the best acne medicine, please understand that no two acne sufferers are the same. An acne medication that would have worked for someone else, may not necessarily work for you too.

Whomsoever is suffering from acne, a bit of trial and error is always involved before zeroing in on the correct medicine suited for you. Once you identify the best treatment for your acnes, you should immediately stock its supplies so that treating similar problems in the future, preferably as soon as they crop-up will not be an issue. In case you do not stock up your shelves with the correct acne medicine that suits you, you will be left hopping shop after shop for the right medicine when an acne outbreak happens.

It is very important to treat acne immediately after the outbreak. This will help in containing the severity of the outbreak by shortening the duration of the outbreak.

Before you decide on a medication do a little bit of research about what acne medications are normally made of. Understand the part each ingredient of the acne medication plays and learn how effective these ingredients are when it comes to fighting acne.

Benzoyl peroxide is the most common ingredient in the fight of acne. However, many users have complained that it can cause redness and irritation, especially for people with sensitive skin.

It is highly preferable to try and use all natural acne treatment products. These types of products which use ingredients from a natural source can be much more effective in the treatment of acne. Vitamin supplements of Vitamin A and Vitamin B5 have been proved to have substantial acne fighting properties.

Prescription medications which are available in most of the retail stores, over the counter have also been effective in the treatment of acne. In case you do not wish to take chances and want to rather stick to prescription medicines, consult your family doctor or a qualified General Physician and ask him or her to prescribe the most appropriate acne medicine suited for you.

Who Should Use Homemade Acne Treatments?

By Stephen Harris

Teenagers know that acne can be a very humiliating and painful disease. Nobody wants to live with that acne face, neither to endure the horrible look of the remaining scars each time they look in the mirror. For most of us, acne goes away with age, but for others it stays forever.

Herbal, natural remedies are the last solution for those who are depressed because of their many procedures they've been through for so many years, hoping to remain acne-free some day. This is how people discovered that masks based on oatmeal can reduce the outbreaks of the disease without adjutant medication.

Before trying any remedy, make sure that you've visited a doctor. Dermatologists can give you medication which can cure your acne, if you are lucky. It is worth trying this as your first step in curing the disease.

During an acne outbreak, the skin should be left alone to heal by itself. No squeezing and scratching is allowed whatsoever. If you love your face and you want to see it clear in the future, don't forget to keep your hands still.

Medical acne solutions are of several types: antibacterials, for eliminating bacteria, comedolytics for opening and cleaning the pores, and anti inflammatories.

Anti-inflammatory medication will reduce swallowing, while antioxidants such as vitamins and minerals will accelerate the healing of your wounds and protect your skin against free radicals. Free radicals are responsible for aging human cells.

Beware not to scratch your pimples and do not tear off the crusts on your wounds. If you do that, you'll be left with deep scars and you may need laser surgery for repairing your face. It is painful and expensive, so you'd better keep your fingernails at home and not scratch the pimples.

What you eat may influence your acne outbreaks. Try to switch to a healthier way of life, with plenty of fruit and vegetables. Drink about 6-8 glasses of water every day and don't forget to wash your face thoroughly every evening.

Homemade Acne Treatments: Why Not Give Them A Try?

By Felix Schmieder

I got acne around the typical time young people do. I was about halfway through high school. I could never get it to go away but I clung to hope because my parents told me it would fade as I grew older. Imagine my dismay as not only did my acne stick around, but it also got worse.

I got into the habit of trying out new products. Some worked ok and others were terrible. I really wanted to handle my problem so I looked around a lot online to hopefully find a cure.

I eventually found that many people were using homemade acne treatments with great success. I would have never imagined that stuff I could find around my house could work so well. I was pretty excited and wanted to try them all out at once.

Thankfully, I reigned in my eagerness a bit and decided to try out the products in a more conventional manner. Some worked great for me and really helped clear up my skin. Others didn't work as well, but I wasn't bothered as much when something didn't work. Why? Because it costs only a few dollars compared to the tens or hundreds of dollars I had wasted before.

On top of not wasting my money anymore, I was also not using harsh chemicals on my face. My skin wasn't always clear, but it stopped being dull and actually looked really good. Ever since I noticed that, I've sworn off conventional medications. They never made me all that clear and they made my skin look like crap on top of it.

After reading this far you probably want some ideas to get you started. There are all sorts of recipes all over the internet. You could try using baking soda as an exfoliate, it helps smooth the skin by clearing out dead skin cells. You could also try egg whites to smooth your skin and use egg yolks to help heal any marks or blemishes you might have.

If these seem a bit off the way, you should try two quick and easy ones that many people have reported with great success. The first is using lemon juice as a cleaner/toner. Lemon juice works very well at clearing out pores. Just clean your face and apply it. Just make sure you mix some water with the lemon juice as a full strength mixture will sting quite a bit.

The other that works well is using aspirin as a mask. Aspirin is essentially salicylic acid and it helps clear pores while fading existing blemishes. All you need is about 3 tablets. Put them in a cup, sprinkle some water on and smush them up with a stick. You want the resulting paste to be pretty thick, so I emphasize that you sprinkle water on. Leave the resulting mask on your face for about 10-15 minutes and rinse off thoroughly.

How And Why To Use Baking Soda For Acne.

By Felix Schmieder

If you're like me or anyone else with acne prone skin, youre usually on the look out for new products that will help clear your skin. If you havent taken the time to try using baking soda for your acne, I strongly suggest you give it a try.

Why? Because its cheap for one. You buy a box of baking soda for less than a dollar at CVS or Walmart. Secondly, it works and it works well. I dont know the exact science behind it, but I do know results when I see them.

So, do you need any special ingredients to maximize the effect? Nope, you just need two ingredients: water and baking soda. You don't need filtered water, spring water or anything special. To be fair some people argue that you should use Apple Cider Vinegar as a toner, but I'll get to that in a minute.

All that is necessary is you mix the baking soda and the water into a paste. Make sure the paste is thick enough to stick to your face but loose enough to spread across your skin easily. You want it to gently exfoliate your skin while you apply it, so making it to runny or to thick will defeat the purpose. Don't worry to much in trying to get the perfect consistency, it will work well no matter what.

All you do is lightly, very lightly, rub the paste onto your face. Let it sit for a few minutes at least to really allow the baking soda to clean, clear, and dry all the gunk in your pores up. Be forewarned that the first few times, it may sting a little bit. Also be sure you use Baking Soda not Baking Powder. I made the mistake once and that burned like heck! Anyways, after you have let it sit for a few minutes, rinse off all of the mask. Rinse pretty thoroughly here as you want to get all of it off.

Using Apple Cider Vinegar after you've rinsed the baking soda off your face is highly encouraged, but not necessary. It's only encouraged because baking soda is a strong base and will upset the pH balance of the skin on your face. Using a diluted mixture of 70% water with 30% ACV will help bring your skin to it's proper pH level.

This mask tends to dry at your face, more so at the beginning and then it tapers off after using it for a while. So like I always say, moisturize. Even if you tend to have oily skin, you'll want to lightly moisturize just in case. Also, if this is agreeable with your skin, try not to overdo it in the first month. Keep it to a maximum of 3 times a week until you notice your skin has adapted to it. Don't worry if you do go overboard, your skin will just be a little more dry than normal.

The best part about using baking soda for acne? You wont feel it in your wallet if it doesn't work that well for you. As I mentioned, you can buy the baking soda for less than a dollar. If you splurge and buy some apple cider vinegar as a toner, you'll spend at most $10 but usually not more than $6.

How To Get Rid Of Acne And Stay Clear Forever

By Felix Schmieder

Getting rid of acne requires a combination of several different things. Proper diet, exercise and topical applications work in conjunction to give you a healthy, beautiful face. By following the steps here, you can be well on your way to clearing your skin for good.

By eating the right foods and avoiding the bad one's, you can help avoid future breakouts. Specifically, avoiding processed food, red meat and dairy are the kinds of food you want to avoid. The simple truth is that you if have acne, you have food allergies of some sort. People who have acne tend to be allergic to things such as dairy or white breads/pasta and acne is just the body's way of trying to let you know that there's a problem.

Here's a quick dirty guide to know you're eating the right things. Avoid all the food in the inside isles like the plague. They tend to be processed and full of bad things like sugars and starches. Instead you should stay along the outside perimeter and buy only natural, unprocessed food. By cutting out the excess processed stuff, you'll cut down on many breakouts.

You don't have to give up your favorite foods by any means. I still eat red meat and I still consume dairy. You just have to find substitutions where you can and eat in moderation when you can't. My solution for the red meat is to eat only from cows that are grass fed and not given any hormones. If you like pasta or bread, switch to whole wheat or multi0grain alternatives. With just some small changes to your diet you can gain many benefits to the health of your skin.

Now we move on to exercise. This is an important step because by exercising, you detox your skin in a way. Both through sweat and by increased blood flow. The increased blood flow is the major contributor here as it brings more oxygen to your face while taking away more toxins. By just exercising 3 times a week, you'll see a great rise in the health of your skin.

Water consumption goes hand in hand with exercise. This is because for maximum performance during exercise, you have to be properly hydrated. In addition to exercise performance, staying well hydrated will keep your skin healthy, toxin free and moisturized. As far as how much to drink, well the old 6-8 glasses advice is a bare minimum. The truth is you need to consume a lot more than that. I personally drink anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 a gallon each day. Combined with the increased blood flow from exercise, water makes a pretty strong competitor against acne.

Finally, you'll want good products to take care of your face. Personally, I've stopped using any sort of medicines as I feel they're to harsh for my skin, not to mention they never worked very well and were expensive to boot. I've switched to using strictly homemade acne treatments and other solutions for acne. My favorite is the oil cleansing method, but there are a myriad of them out there.

One more quick note. You should always try to moisturize as it helps your face look good and keeps your skin healthy. You should always use a moisturizer that is non-comedogenic so it lets your pores breathe. In addition, you want one that is also made specifically for sensitive skin. Why sensitive skin? because if you have acne, your skin is sensitive and you should treat it as such. So remember, treat your body right and your skin will reward you.

Should You Review Arbonne For Acne?

By Felix Schmieder

I what you might call a pusher. I push people to try natural and homemade acne treatments. I think they work better than conventional treatments and they're cheaper on top of that. I was pretty happy to hear a company called Arbonne decided to combine the best of both worlds.

Arbonne is a network marketing company that makes many great and high quality skin care products. All their products are made with vitamins, oils and natural botnicals and they try to stay away from harsh chemicals. This is pretty cool as chemicals, in my opinion, can cause just as much acne as they prevent. They also do a number on your skin after repeated use as well.

I only say this because over the years, I have used many different chemicals on my face. While some made me look good initially, eventually they all made my skin look pretty dull. The worst culprit was benzoyl peroxide. This made my skin look absolutely terrible and all it did was keep my acne in check; it could never clear me 100%. Others, like salicylic acid aren't bad when used sparingly but again they never seemed to clear me.

There's just one problem when it comes to my review of Arbonne. I'm already clear and there's no way that I'm going to try to make my face break out just so I can try this out. The other problem is that Arbonne is a bit on the expensive side. Also, you can only buy their products through their reps, so unfortunately, there's no searching online for a better deal.

Now the next thing I would consider is to ask a friend or someone I know what they thought of Arbonne. Well if one person is good, why not 150? I'm referring to the real reviews of Arbonne at acne.org. I trust this site implicitly as it's mostly comprised of people just trying to be honest and offer their personal experiences. This is one of the best resources available to people with acne and you should check it out for some ideas.

So what did they say? With over 150 reviews, Arbonne got a rating of 3.5 out of 5 which isn't bad. Many products that get reviewed their don't score higher than a 3. While 3.5 isn't to bad, you might want to consider looking around a bit more. Since their system is around $50, I would prefer to see at least a 4 out of 5 to indicate it has more universal application. If money isn't that much of a concern, you might give it a try because many people are reporting success. Chances are good that you'll see some success.

As I said before, Arbonne uses some pretty awesome natural ingredients. It's just that the price is a bit high for me, especially considering that it might work. There's no guarantee. Arbonne really isn't at fault here and you can't blame. Some solutions work well for some people while doing nothing at all for others.

When it comes down to it, I think you would be better of trying some alternative treatments before buying the Arbonne product. They work just as well as any type of medication and you'll feel it less in your wallet if one particular idea doesn't work out for you. If cost isn't a factor, give Arbonne a try, but just remember you could try out 5-15 different homemade acne remedies for the cost of one of their systems.

Treat Your Acne With The Oil Cleansing Method

By Felix Schmieder

The what method for clearing acne?? Yep, I said oil. This is one of my favorite things to do because my skin feels so soft and it seems to keep the midday shine down. This is no small feat as I work in a restaurant and I'm around cooking oils and smoke all day long. The oil cleansing method is one of the cheapest and most effective alternatives to help clear your skin and I still use it to this day just to make my skin look good.

Trust me, guys, this will not break you out at all! This will help clear your skin and make it look soft and smooth. There are two main ingredients for the oil cleansing method. All you need is Castor oil and extra virgin olive oil. It's been debated whether you need cold pressed, organic or any other fancy methods. I use regular, store bought oils from CVS and Acme and they work great for me. Don't think you have to buy the expensive alternatives, the cheap one's work just as well.

Two quick notes before I start. First, ensure you choose extra virgin olive oil and not regular olive oil. Regular olive oil is to thick and it will cause you to break out. Just be careful when choosing your oil as it's easy to get the two confused.

The other point is that you don't have to use extra virgin olive oil. There are many different oils you can use in place of it, such as grape seed oil, sunflower oil, jojoba oil and many others. Personally, I use a 50/50 combination of jojoba oil and grape seed oil. This is because jojoba oil is one of the best natural moisturizers available today and grape seed oil is even lighter in texture than extra virgin olive oil.

All that you have to do is mix the oils together. You can do this directly in your palm or you could mix them up in a container beforehand to help reduce mess. For a balance between maximum effectiveness and to keep your skin from drying out, you should keep the mixture at about 10%-30% Castor Oil. Now all you need to do is get a quarter sized amount of the mixture in your hands and spread it all over your face, gently massaging it into your skin.

If you decide to follow my recommendation using jojoba oil, I encourage you to try higher amounts of Castor oil. The jojoba oil will counter act any of the drying effects of the Castor oil and larger concentrations will help your acne clear even faster. That can never be a bad thing, right?

The next step is to take a small washcloth or towel and soak it in hot water. Don't make it so hot that it will burn you because you're going to want to place the still hot towel on your face. What this does is steam open your pores and allows the oils the penetrate into them. Allow the cloth to cool to room temperature and repeat a few times to get the maximum effect. I really enjoy this part as it's really relaxing, so enjoy it! After you've finished, just wipe the oil off with the cloth. There's no need to wash them off with soap, wiping them off will suffice.

That's it. All you need to do is to splash some cold water on your face. This will close up your pores. Now if you decided to use jojoba oil, you most likely don't need to moisturize. If you do, just a few drops of jojoba will work just fine. If you don't use jojoba and want to moisturize, make sure you get one that is made for sensitive skin, no matter if you're skin is dry or oily or in between. The sad truth is if you have acne, your skin is sensitive and should be treated as such.

Simple Steps to Cure Acne Naturally

By Dori Clayton

Ever wonder why do people spend so much time and money to cure acne problems? Let me assume that you are reading this article on cure acne because you too are keen to know how to get rid of acne.

Do you know that statistics have shown that more than 80% of the American population have in their lifetime suffered from acne problems? Acne or pimples may appear harmless at first but if not carefully dealt with, it can become serious if you don't find out the right measures to cure acne.

Acne problems can affect a person's self confidence and self esteem and thus leading to psychological problems.

Acne treatment can be done through several methods, some naturally and some through over the counter or solution treatments. There are however a few things to consider prior to making a decision when it comes to finding acne treatment.

1. Acne is not contagious. It cannot be passed from person to person however; it can spread between areas of your face. In order to avoid expensive acne treatments acne should be taken care of in the early stages.

2. One of the biggest causes of acne can be attributed to diet. Carbohydrates and oil rich foods can cause a buildup of toxins within the body and if the liver, kidneys and intestines are not working properly this can contribute to acne.

3. The toxins released through your skin are the dirt and oil that causes the acne to swell up and get the pores infected. So if you want to cure acne, do eat the right kind of foods. Some of the vitamins and minerals that can help to cure acne are Vitamin A or Retinol (be warned that high doses are toxic), Vitamin B Complex, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, L-Carnitine, and Zinc.

4. Drinking plenty of pure water or fresh juices (those that do not contain additional sugar or chemicals!) throughout the day as that can help to cleanse the body and cure acne.

5. Stress is a major factor in acne breakouts. This includes both internal and external stressors. Externally avoid things such as overexposure to the sun and make up products that are full of oil. Internally, avoid anger, depression, and fear and worry since these emotional factors can increase the reactions in the body that can cause a break out.

6. Get the right dose of rest and sleep if you seriously want to cure acne.

The tips presented here are just some of the things that can help to not only cure but also prevent acne naturally. In addition to these tips, it is essential to make sure that your skin is clean. These simple steps can help you on your way to healthier looking skin.

Is it Okay To Mix Skin Care Products?

By Nancy Jones

There are many skin care products on the market. And they are all intended for different things. Choosing the right product for multiple issues and mixing them can be confusing. If you have oily skin in one area, then dry in another, it can get complicated.

On top of that, more and more each day, people are getting sensitive to non natural additives in products. Some of the products can also be damaging to the environment, or not natural.

Another factor contributing to skin sensitiveness are diet, medications, the environment (free radicals), hormones, stress and your overall health. Product A may not work with product B. Products are not always formulated to work in conjunction with each other. This is particularly possible when you are dealing with different brands of products.

For instance, let's look at pH level, the measurement of acids and alkali in the skin. The amount of acid in the skin determines the skin's resistance to bacteria. Each brand of skin care products is specifically tailored to work together to maintain an optimal pH level. The cleanser, moisturizer and toner all from the same manufacturer will set the pH level that compliments each product. When mixing brands, one company's pH balance range may be quite different from the pH balance range of another manufacturer. The skin works everyday at trying to maintain optimal level of oils and pH balance. When mixing different brands of skin care products, the results can be damaging to the skin. The skin becomes off-balance and even confused which leads to acne, allergies, rashes, and skin sensitivity to name a few.

It is just like mixing common household cleaners together, which can be toxic, the same can be said about mixing and matching skin care products. While the result may not be as drastic, you can see irritation and rash as a result of mixing products

When you are starting on any regimen, make sure you look at all the products as a whole and make sure that they go together. There is benefit in speaking to a professional, and considering sticking with one brand.

I do realize that complete skin care systems can be quite pricey, especially when times are a little tight for everyone. However, what good is spending $20 or more for a toner only to have it clash with your moisturizer. You are not doing your skin any favor with a menagerie of products, and could be setting yourself up skin problems in the future.

The skin is a marvelous organ, the largest in the body and it responds quickly to tender loving care. Take care of your complexion and it will do everything naturally possible to be soft, clear, and healthy.
