How to deal with acne

By Andrew Logan

As many of you already know, caring for, and particularly cleaning your skin can be a full time job. Because acne tends to affect you at the worst possible moment, like just before a job interview, or a first date, it can be equally frustrating.

One of the best treatment options to fight acne is to just have a good understanding of what it is, how it comes about, and most importantly, how to get rid of it.

This article will attempt to explain what you can do to not only effectively clean acne affected areas of your skin, but to keep it that way. A variety of different treatment options will be examined here, with the intention of helping you discover the best for you.

There are three main causes of acne, and once you understand these three causes it will be much easier for you to treat your problem. The first cause of acne, and the easiest to solve, is dirt, yes, dirt. Or, to be more precise dirt, dead skin, and other debris, these tend to build up in and clog the skins pores. This, combined with the oil creates an ideal environment for bacteria, which is the actual cause of infection.

This problem can be solved by using a topical treatment. You can find these at your local pharmacy, drug store or natural health food store, depending on the kind you want. Another option you may consider is a homeopathic or natural treatment, also known as remedies. These can help to cure existing acne, and they can also help to prevent further outbreaks from occurring.

If you are interested in taking the natural path, first let me say that I commend you. With that out of the way, let me explain what treatment options are available to you if this is a priority. Foods high in oil will most always cause your body to produce too much oil, because of this, if you are fighting acne, you will want to limit the amount of oil you intake. To do this, just limit the amount of oily foods you eat such as fried foods, chips or basically any other unhealthy food.

And, as most women already know, you can blend these foods and mix them into a paste which can be applied to the face directly to serve as a facial mask. This can do two important things for your skin. First, it can exfoliate the skin. Next, the acids within the fruits can help to dry the excess oil up, which can help to prevent further outbreaks.

And of course, you should not forget to drink plenty of water; after all you are made of over seventy percent water. During exercise you should drink even more since your body will sweat a lot of it out. Remember to always consult your doctor before starting any new diet or exercise.
