Natural Acne Remedies

Did you know that acne is a skin condition that occurs with the overproduction of oil by the oil glands of the skin? Fortunately, acne is not a serious health threat but, it can cause scars. The bad news acne is not an adolescent disease. Be very careful here and don't think that because acne is common, you don't need treatment. Acne is worldwide the most common skin disease.

Unfortunately, women often have a flare-up of acne after giving birth. Because it is the most common skin disease worldwide, it is the most common skin disorder seen by doctors. Believe it or not, the actual cause of acne is unknown. Acne is a disease that affects more than 17 million individuals in the United States. Though acne is supposed to vanish after the teens, it can persist for many years.

The vitamin way...Niacin - 100 mg niacin, three times daily and vitamin A - 50,000 international units of vitamin A, three times daily have been used successfully to treat acne. Vitamin E- 400 mg daily and Zinc - 50 mg three times daily have also show improvement for people with acne. This therapy should be continued for a month.

The food way--Pound an orange peel and mix with water and apply to affected area.Lemon juice applied to the area has also proved very beneficial in reducing pimples and acne. Raw garlic rubbed on the acne several times a day has been known to have cured tough acne problems. Garlic has many wonderful health benefits when eaten. If you can stand it, eat several cloves of garlic daily for a month. It's a great blood purifier. Cucumber, if grated, and applied over the face is worth a try. Fenugreek, an herb or spice, can be made into a paste by grinding up the leaves with water and applying to the face before going to bed...don't forget to wash your face with warm water in the morning?

The diet way...Bad eating habits can cause all types of acne. And what are these bad eating habits? Eating at weird hours or irregular times; too much starch and sugar consumption; fried and fatty foods are also a no-no. Constipation, in addition to it being uncomfortable, is another cause of acne. If the bowels aren't moving properly, the junk is not eliminated as quickly as it should.

The bloodstream becomes overdosed with toxic matter. The skin does extra duty to eliminate excess waste which result in acne and other forms of skin diseases
