How to Get Rid of a Pimple?

By Peter Skonctue

Many people will wonder how to get rid of a pimple. It is no surprise that they will have such a feeling. Pimples are not exactly nice additions to one's appearance and they elimination of acne on one's skin is certainly desired. Of course, this raises questions regarding how to get rid of a pimple. There are good ways and bad ways to achieve this. Let's look at a number of the more helpful ones.

Don't squeeze a pimple; this is the first thing that you need to know. You might have been told to do this by friends, and it might seem like a good idea, but you need to stay away from this course of action indefinitely. Squeezing your pimple will cause more infection, and it will irritate it much more than it already is.

For instance, if you had a rather small pimple beforehand, squeezing it will make it much larger, and much more noticeable. The infection will spread, and this may in fact cause more breakouts all over your face. Sounds a little counterproductive doesn't it?

It is also best to avoid trying to use the sun as a means of drying out a pimple. While this strategy may deliver somewhat positive results at first, drying out the skin can lead to the skin spawning more oil to the pores to compensate. This means, wider and more expansive pimple outbreaks may occur. As such, the strategy of using the sun to dry out pimples is one that is thoroughly best avoided.

So the question remains: how to get rid of a pimple? First of all you are going to need to give the affected area a thorough cleaning, and you are going to need to do this every single day. Cleaning will reduce bacteria, and that is bacteria that might cause acne. No, it's probably not going to cure the problem, but it will help out somewhat.

Purchasing a good over the counter acne cream is definitely a good move for those wondering how to get rid of a pimple. Acne creams can break up oils and dirt and dry out the core of a pimple. This will lead to the acne lesions shrinking and slowly disappearing.

That's all most people will require, though there are some that will find it to be ineffective. If this happens to you, then it's time do do something drastic. You'll need to step foot inside a dermatologists office.

What can a dermatologist do? There are several treatment methods including antibiotic creams and oral tablets that can deliver results. Cortisone injections have even been used to shrink painful and problematic pimples. Really, there are a variety of methods that a dermatologist can use to rid someone of acne infections. Exploring these methods is advised for those that are fruitlessly battling their acne problem.

You are without a doubt going to experience a lot of uncertainty when trying to figure out how to get rid of a pimple. It wont' be easy, but make sure you follow the guidelines of the professionals and don't do anything rash. Good luck!
