A Few Face Care Cleansing Tips Everyone Should Know

By Annie Tusca

A lot of women were makeup everyday. In fact, most women do. And if that describes you, then hopefully you are already doing the face care cleansing tips I will outline in this article. A good rule of thumb is to cleanse your face once in the morning and once at night. And if that isn't possible, never go to bed without first washing your face. No matter how tired you might be!

Establishing a good habit of cleansing will not only keep you from getting premature wrinkles, but your skin will always be in the best possible condition. It will feel soft and firm. By cleansing regularly, you will look and feel like a million bucks.

Here's my number one face care cleansing tip: understand the benefits of cleansing and you will want to do it everyday - religiously. If you knew how much dirt and grime accumulates right on the surface of your skin everyday, you wouldn't even think twice about skipping washing your face! Dirt build up on your facial skin can cause skin problems that could have easily been avoided.

Before you start cleansing, pull your hair away from your face and if possible, pin it up or put it in a pony tail. One of the most important parts of cleansing your face is making sure you clean all the way up to your hairline. Dirt and grime gets lodged right at the hairline and it's important to keep this area clean to avoid breakouts.

Number 2 on the list of good face care cleansing tips is to gently remove your eye make up and mascara. Be patient and don't stretch or rub the skin too much around your eyes. This area of your face has much more delicate skin than any other place. Too much stretching of the skin around your eyes can lead to wrinkles showing up before you want them to. (Not that we EVER want them too!) So, take care when removing your mascara.

You are going to get wrinkles regardless - so why make the process faster by not being careful when you cleanse around your eyes? Use a cotton ball or cotton pad soaked with your favorite eye makeup remover and gently wipe the mascara away.

The next thing to do is to apply a cleansing solution, lotion or cream to the rest of your face. You can massage it into your skin and especially in areas that might be prone to blemishes or blackheads. The massaging technique does two things. It helps to loosen up makeup and grime and some act as a moisturizer as well.

And now that you are finished cleansing your face with the cream or lotion, just wipe off the excess with cotton balls or tissues. A soft washcloth works too.

Toner is a wonderful follow up after cleansing your face of all makeup. It's not mandatory, but I really like how toner makes my skin feel. And after I've applied the toner and let it dry, I then use a night cream that is just right for my skin. It's amazing how soft my skin feels when I wake up every morning!

Another face care cleansing tip: even though you've established a routine at night to thoroughly cleanse your face, you still need to wash it when you get up in the morning. Now you are ready to put make up on a fresh, clean face. You'll love how your skin feels and you'll undoubtedly be pleased by the fact that you rarely have to deal with breakouts. This is such a simple thing to do for yourself.
