Avoid Dangerous Acne Clinics

By Daniel Davis

Have you felt the temptation to try to have your terrible acne treated by an acne clinic? Do you know what to expect from an acne clinic, how to figure out if they are effective, as well as if the procedures used everyday are really safe and won't have any bad permanent side effects?

Do you know how the procedures that are provided will affect your life on a daily basis? Do you know if they fall under the jurisdiction of any regulatory body and whether or not they meet legal standards involved for dispensing medication for certain ailments?

When a treatment is prescribed, are you aware of the exact ingredients included in the treatment? Do you know how it works and what effects each of the ingredients will have on your body? Do you know if mixing what they prescribe with the medicines that you are already taking can cause problems? Are they knowledgeable enough to be able to advise you as to any possible drug interactions?

Does the clinic that you use ask about other parts of your day-to-day living and come up with a comprehensive approach to remedying or easing your problem -- after all, acne is not just a skin problem.

Has your curiosity been piqued by these questions? Have you asked yourself if the clinic you go to or are thinking of going to regarding your acne is actually a good place for you to go and the right thing for you?

As people we tend to believe - innocently, it appears to be - in science, and we are willing to believe anybody that has a title after their name (many times we don't know what it means). We should know more about the personal agendas and priorities of people who are caring for us and our precious skin.

If we did, we would probably be less willing to accept what the "experts" recommend just because they work in a clinic. It has recently become apparent that acne products that are advertised and recommended by certain acne clinics are not necessarily safe and/or effective. One product (Accutane) was actually recalled by the manufacturer after evidence came to light proving that it was dangerous.

On our web page, we try to give you balanced information based on common sense about acne, how to get control of it, what to do to ease the problem. Also we take a more natural, comprehensive view of dealing with it. Our website will assist you in finding a way to resolve your acne problem.
