Severe Acne Treatment - What You Should Do

By Gregory E Newton

It is important that you take care of your skin. This is because it acts as a base. Whether you put on makeup or not, it is always easier to start with a skin that is clear. Ironically, the makeup sticks on so much better on a smooth and fine surface. Conversely, the better your skin is, the less makeup you need. So what do you do if you suffer from acne? The short answer is you need the appropriate severe acne treatment.

First of all, make sure that you put things in the right perspective. How severe or mild is your acne? Maybe it is more appropriate to be called pimples rather than acne. Is it really as severe as it seems to you?

Avoid being overly self conscious and therefore, self critical as this does nothing to help you. Excess worry accelerates the problem on hand, especially when it comes to the delicate issue of skin. Do not perceive it any worse than it really is. It is best to be accurate than to go overboard.

A professional such as a beauty therapist may be of great help in this case. Having been experienced and seen many clients in your shoes, she can tell for sure what you have and guide you accordingly. Besides, she can be objective as there is no reason for her to take this personally. The same can be said of a dermatologist. Whether you opt for a therapist or a dermatologist, ensure that this is a person you can trust. Knowing that they are experienced often helps.

Whether you seek the help of a dermatologist or not, what you can do is to drink plenty of fresh water. Water aids in the process of self healing. And so is plenty of or at least sufficient sleep. Advice like these never goes out of style and you will do well to follow.

The fact is that your skin and body rejuvenate by themselves as you rest in your sleep. This is why enough sleep is important. Some even say that you should sleep no later than 11 PM because that is the optimum timing in which the body/skin work. Nevertheless, your own biological rhythm may over rule this one.

This special time of rest being the time your body/skin performs self healing, you must wear no makeup to sleep. All makeup must be absolutely washed off if you do wear makeup in the day-time. The last thing you want is for your makeup to interfere with the rejuvenation process. Not to mention that makeup clogs pores, even when these claim to be non comedogenic.

Minimize stress as best you can. The skin is a delicate organ and stress easily reveals itself there if you let it. You can say that stress interrupts with the self healing system of the skin. Prolonged stress eventually affects your health, not just your skin.

You may have read from somewhere that certain foods promote beauty. Feel free to include any food that your body have no aversion to, into your diet. But the best advice is to stay balance by consuming something from each food group. Take care also that you are consuming a sensible amount from each food group. Remember the food pyramid? Oil tops the pyramid and is the least in quantity to be consumed.

If you have done as mentioned above in addition to using the prescribed cream for severe acne treatment, there is no reason why your skin should not improve. Be hopeful and stay happy; you will soon notice the results you are seeking.
