The Story Of An Acne Sufferer

By Alan Kent

Nearly everyone at some point in their lives will get acne, and the sad thing is most people get it when they are at their most vulnerable. During our teenage years most of us are quite low on self esteem so it doesn't help when we have lots of acne pimples covering our face. I had acne for a long time and was left with scars afterwards so if you are suffering from acne I know how you feel.

There are a huge range of products that prey on teenagers hopes of getting rid of acne fast. In reality there is no quick fix to getting rid of acne unfortunately, it is a long process and will mostly take place regardless of what you try and do to get rid of it. There isn't a cure for acne at the moment so don't buy any supposed miracle products.

Let me tell you a story. When I had acne I spent quite a lot of money that I didn't really have on products that claimed to get rid of it. None of them worked as far as I could tell. This is probably because a lot of them centred on being able to get rid of dirt from the skin when in reality acne isn't caused by dirt. Even so I believed them and spent a lot of money hoping that they would fix it. To make things worse I couldn't stop using them because I was worried that if I did the acne would get worse!

Acne usually disappears by itself though so don't get too hung up on trying to use all the different products to make it go away. While it is a difficult problem to deal with usually the worst will be over relatively quickly even though it doesn't seem like it at the time.

If you have severe acne then you should consider visiting your doctor as there are things you can do to avoid scarring.

However, stick at it and before you know it the acne will be gone and your confidence will be back. If you think you have very severe acne then you should contact your dermatologist who will advise you on the best way to avoid getting scarring because that can be a real problem.
