Trying to Get Rid of Acne? Acne and Its Effects on Our Mindset

By Garyl Hany

Seeing acne growing uncontrollably all over your face is not a good way to start high school. Either way, you might feel a little embarrassed or even feel ugly. Most especially if you feel like a lot of people are looking at you. This is what most of the teens are experiencing when faced with acne problems.

Trying to fit in will not be ideal if you have acne all over your face. With the different changes teens are experiencing on their physical appearance, coping up will be harder. The feeling of being an adult and being able to drive your own car is a great experience, but together with this freedom and the adult look we are trying to get, we are also bombarded with certain realities that can affect greatly on our self confidence.

As much as teens wanted to be part of the crowd, certain body changes hinder them to do so. One major cause of insecurities among teens is their acne. While for some, being "one" of the adults is cool, some are very much afraid with what others might say to them.

Dressing your best is the basic thing when trying to impress someone. Fancy clothes have gotten an extra mile for those in puberty stage. Yet, together with this trend, teens are also being careful with their skin tone, their lips and so on. But with the appearance of acne, and then comparing their condition to other teens, they would think that they are the ugliest person in the room. And aside from the scars acne can cause people, this is one of the many psychological effects on teens.

Trying to avoid a close contact to other people is just one of the many effects of insecurity caused by this condition. The feeling of discrimination is also high. Teens are also have a high regards over what their peers will say to them making them uneasy even more.

The lack of confidence to face other people is common to those who suffer from acne. This will hit them instantly, panicking and feeling ugly in the long run.

Humiliation over their condition is the most common among those effects of acne. And as a result, hiding it over different hair styles and thick cosmetics will then follow. Yet, possible damages to your face are also a prospect if applied wrongly.

And as though they carry the entire acne problem in the world, they become helpless. But having acne problem will not affect one's self-confidence if treated immediately and stopping it from overtaking your outlook in life through seeing your doctor. But still, prevention is better than cure.
